39th Houston Pod Chili Cookoff

Apr 24th-25th 2010
A Texas-size salute to the official state dish will be served up at the 39th Annual Houston Pod Chili Cookoff. This cookoff is the oldest chili cookoff in the world and is held under the auspices of the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI).

Chili cooks from as far away as New York City will be joined by "chili heads" (as they affectionately call themselves). So bring the whole family and join all the fun, food and festivities. All proceeds for this event will benefit local charities.

The market is just minutes northwest of downtown Houston on N. Eldridge Road off of Highway 290. Free to the public, parking $3.
