31st BBQ & Chili Cookoff – Houston Metro Go Texan Cy-Fair

Sponsored by the Houston Metro Go Texan Committee Cypress Fairbanks Subcommittee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

January is going to be hot as a jalapeno at Traders Village as the Cy-Fair Go Texan Subcommittee dishes up two days of spicy chili, barbecue, brisket, and chicken to benefit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The 31st Annual Cookoff will be held January 25 & 26, 2020 and will feature more rootin’ tootin’ “trail cooks” than you can shake a chili ladle at. Saturday’s competitions include Junior Chili, Chili, Dutch Oven, and Cook’s Choice (no dessert). Sunday will feature entries looking to be named the best in Chicken, Pork Ribs and Brisket categories.

Traders Village is the largest flea market and special events complex on the Gulf Coast with more than 1,500 dealers every weekend. Gates open for shopping at 10 a.m. Cookoff activities begin at 12 noon.

Friday:  Team check in

Saturday Events: Junior Chili, Chili, Dutch Oven, Cook’s Choice.

Sunday Events include: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Brisket*
