Burton Ball Nights!!! (A Drive-Thru Experience)

The longest running Burton themed event in San Antonio is returning this October but with a twist of extreme proportions! In today’s current climate, we wanted to ensure an event that was first and foremost, safe for our attendees and their families while keeping our tradition going strong so we’ve gone even bigger (it is Texas after all) and bringing you a full on drive-thru experience complete with all the magic, lights, artistry and creativity which began in 2011 back at the Korova (RIP).

For a decade now, we annually celebrate all things TIM BURTON and have watched our spooky little party morph into one of the most highly anticipated events of the season and with a little bit of creativity, we will carry on this October! This year, we’ve found a location big enough (Thank you Traders Village for welcoming our madness) to bring the entire Ball outdoors with the ambience you’ve become accustomed to with our events over the years.

As always, The Burton Ball will be complete with spooky music, creepy décor, projections, food (order from your car), Burton themed art, (virtual) vendors and of course, a costume contest with a twist for the best Burton inspired looks of the event with over $1000 in prizes & cash!

Entry will be done online with each contestant submitting themselves in full costume (time-stamped) for fans to select a winner for the event. We will provide each contestant with a link for their friends and family to vote for them as well. Entry for the Costume Contest will open September 10th, 2020 and end upon the completion of the Burton Ball. All final rules and details will be posted on the event page and shared on social media as well on September 4th. There will be a youth category, adult category and new this year, a couples/family category.

Our Virtual Vendor Village will open September 1st and allow attendees to shop beforehand and support all our local artists and crafters as they do each year. Upon completing their drive-thru experience, guests will be able to drive up to the official Burton Ball merch tents and have their items delivered safely to their car as well or also have the option to have their items shipped! Vendors who are interested in becoming part of our Burton Ball Virtual Vendor Village must email us at We are limiting this year’s vendors as we do each year and they must meet the criteria of the event & be a past Burton Ball vendor as well to be eligible. Vendor Village will also open September 10th so guests can begin their shopping early and as always, keep supporting your local artists and vendors!

~Burton’s Ball — QUESTIONS & ANSWERS~

What is Burton Ball Nights?
For nearly a decade now, the annual Burton Ball has celebrated all things Tim Burton and has morphed into one of the most highly anticipated events of the Halloween season. This year, Burton Ball Nights is a Texas-sized mile long route drive thru experience complete with spooky holiday lights, character driven displays from Burton classic films, local artist murals and more.

What’s a carload ticket?
The ticket covers everyone in your vehicle coming into the event. You may also purchase VIP Packages with limited edition merchandise in advance which you pick up curbside at the end of your drive-thru experience.

Do I need to buy my tickets in advance?
To secure your spot on the night you choose to attend, it’s highly encouraged but not required. However, we will limit capacity each evening due to time constraints.

When is pick-up for my tickets if I chose that option?
Pick-up will be in line at the toll booth of the South Entrance on the night in which you choose to attend. You will be checked in as you arrive.

When will my tickets arrive if I choose the delivery option?
All presale tickets who chose delivery will be mailed out beginning September 25th.

Is this kid friendly?
If your family loves Halloween, this is for you. Some elements will be a bit spooky, but there will be no gore, blood or scare elements. Best advice, if they love the movies, they’ll enjoy this event.

Can we come more than once?
Each night and drive-thru will require a ticket to go through but you’re more than welcome to bring friends back throughout the month.

Will there be vendors?
For Burton Ball Nights, all vending and merch will be available online only for purchase with curbside pick-up at the end of the night you attend. For those wishing to shop in person to support vendors, there will be a free daytime market each weekend from 11am-5pm but TV parking is not included. Note, not all virtual vendors will be in person at the daytime market.
