44th Annual Texas Open Chili Championship 2021

Texas-size salute to the official state dish will be served up at the Texas Open Chili Championship, Saturday and Sunday, February 27-28, 2021, at Traders Village San Antonio.

This event is held under the auspices of the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI). Chili cooks from all across Texas will join the many “chiliheads” (as they affectionately call themselves) to vie for the top honors in Chili and Junior Chili. On Saturday the 22nd,

CASI Chili Entry Fee is $35 and Junior Chili Competition is $10.

Head to the BBQ under the Brown Pavilion for some great Frito Pie cooked by our own team.  While you’re there, grab a nice cold beer.

FREE CHILI!!!   Sign up to be a Judge — Need to be under the Brown Expo to sign up to be a judge NO LATER THAN 12:00 pm.

Proceeds will benefit:  HOPE HITS HARDER

COVID Rules & Regulations will be strictly enforced:
1. Cooks required to wear mask when under pavilion.
2. All cooks will follow 6` distancing (family can cook side by side)
3. JUDGING: After each round tables will be sanitized.
Monitors will wear gloves
Co-Monitors will wear gloves
All runners will wear gloves
Cups will be wiped down before going on table for judging
Each judge will be given hand wipe to sanitize hands before start.
Spoons, condiment (individually wrapped crackers), and pencil for judging will be given to each judge in a zip-lock
